Volunteering is Fulfilling

Member: IAM Ethics Council

I feel strongly that taking advantage of the many opportunities for volunteering at IAM has benefited me and my business, Alison's Relocations. Among the reasons why I volunteer is a desire to give back, and I feel a responsibility to the industry where I have spent nearly 30 years. More specifically, I enjoy working to promote best practices and help shape the future of our profession.

Volunteering in an industry association such as IAM has provided me with professional development for myself and my company. It is an excellent way to learn new skills, gain experience in areas you may not have had the chance to explore in your current role, and get exposure to new opportunities and best practices.

Volunteering can also help you expand your professional network. By working with other professionals in our field, you can build new connections, collaborate on projects, and learn from others’ experiences. I have had network opportunities abound and have made lifetime friendships.

Volunteering has helped me build our company’s reputation, increased our visibility and provided us with access to industry resources and information that may not be available otherwise. This helps me stay current on the latest trends and developments in our field.

Volunteering has allowed me to demonstrate my commitment to the industry and gain recognition from peers and colleagues. Volunteering is personally very fulfilling and it just makes a person feel good! I feel I am making a positive impact on my industry by volunteering in various roles for IAM, and I will continue to do so.
