Bolstering Resilience to Build a Thriving Organization

To emerge stronger in today’s time, it is crucial to develop resilience within the organization and at all process levels. Often, approaching and understanding resilience can be easy to say, but quite difficult to define and even harder to enact.

As businesses and people around the world underwent rapid and unprecedented changes, COVID-19 heralded the need for a new approach to disrupt and serve the changing demands of customers around the world. The recent digital revolution has ensured that people are able to stay connected despite the odds. This transformation further increased the speed at which authentic relationships were established between the customer, employee, and the company itself.

As an organization resiliently approaching the change, PMR took key steps to accelerate business continuity and support the work-from-home culture. As a company reaching out to individuals at all levels, it was essential to navigate the concerns and challenges at both internal and external levels. We thus incorporated work-for-home Zoom meetups, where the team could communicate and stay connected throughout.

PMR has always stood strong in encouraging innovation and supporting the challenges faced at the ground level. The world today is more interconnected than ever before, from supply chains to the flow of information. Companies have nurtured robust processes to keep functioning smoothly despite the abruptness of changes the world is facing. Amidst tackling the pandemic, rather than reacting to the negative impacts and fighting the situation to stay afloat, PMR holistically focused on finding opportunities—tuning out the noise to focus on sustained growth. As a company, we wanted to support not just our people but everyone with whom we interacted; we put ourselves out there. This in turn gave us an opportunity to expand our service line-up and stay not just robust but also relevant to whoever we connected with.

In desperate times, we relied the strength of our PMR champions who were always ready to mask-up and take up critical moving tasks. This attitude bolstered not just our company’s growth but united and uplifted people together. We assisted corporates to sustain business continuity by packing and moving laptops and desktops across the country; we were fortunate to extend our services to be able to help and serve the ones most in need.

By making ourselves available to help, we actively collaborated partnered with two power-packed NGOs—GiveIndia and The Robinhood Army—for pan-Indian logistics support to provide medical and food essentials to communities which were affected the most at the grassroots level. GiveIndia is a trusted online NGO donation platform that channels and provides resources to credible non-governmental organizations across India with offerings including crowdfunding, corporate giving, cause marketing and philanthropy consulting. The Robin Hood Army is a volunteer-based, zero-funds organization that works to get surplus food from restaurants and the community to serve less fortunate people.

Our team’s collective vision ensured that we reached out with our pro bono services to transport medical equipment, oxygen concentrators, cylinders, medical machinery, and other essential items during the region-wide lockdown. Apart from this, we have also set up a help desk to address queries, leads, and concerns with respect to COVID-19 and helping with verified leads from across the country.

As of now, curating a seamless moving solution for the customer remains stressful and emotionally draining. Despite the challenges faced at all levels, though, our team of front-line warriors ensures that they empathetically support people facing high-risk conditions. There have been situations where our customers had lost family members whose belongings had to be packed, and several instances where clients had passed away due to COVID and we had to undertake the responsibility of customs-clearing their household goods for them. Apart from these situations there were many other technical or logistical challenges due to the regional lockdown.

With a steady increase in people getting vaccinated, the work scenario is soon expected to change and improve. At a time when the future seems very uncertain and geographical, political, and economic change seems to come quickly, organizations need to look beyond their current performance and health to build processes which cater to today’s dynamic demands. Plainly, companies need to adopt a culture of resiliency to thrive.
