BEST PRACTICES FOR RELIABLE PARTNERS

In Relocations, Customer Experience Is Critical in Partner Selection

By Laura May Carmack, Manager, Compliance & Quality, Aires

In the ever-evolving landscape of relocation management and freight forwarding, Aires stands out as a trusted name, dedicated to providing unparalleled service to families moving across the globe. At the heart of our success lies our meticulous process for selecting the best partners for all services—including international household goods—ensuring a seamless and stress-free transition for our clients.

Aires takes pride in its fully independent partner network, a carefully curated group of professionals and organizations that share our commitment to excellence. This network comprises experts in various facets of relocation and freight forwarding, allowing us to offer comprehensive services that meet the diverse needs of our clients.

Central to our partner selection process is the reliance on post-relocation surveys, a key component that sets Aires apart in the industry. These surveys are conducted by a neutral party independent of the relocation process, the Aires Quality team. Surveys are completed by the families we move. Additional communication performance assessments are completed by our dedicated Aires counselors, who work closely with both the families and the selected partners throughout the relocation process. We believe that the best partners are excellent providers of customer service to all parties—which includes both the families and our internal Aires staff.

These survey touchpoints serve as a crucial feedback mechanism, providing valuable insights into the performance of our partners and the overall relocation experience. By actively involving our clients, the families we move, and counselors in the assessment process, we gain a comprehensive understanding of the strengths and areas for improvement of our partner services.

Aires believes in transparency and accountability, and the relocation survey touchpoints empower us to continuously refine our partner selection criteria. We value the feedback received from our clients, counselors, and partners; it allows us to make informed decisions that enhance the quality and value of our services.

Gathering data is a big part of any quality management system; however, it is also critical to share the data with partners on a continual basis as new data is collected. Aires distributes weekly partner and Aires staff scorecards full of transferee comments and scores. We encourage partners to leverage Aires’ weekly scorecards for their internal staff recognition and reward programs—we believe in appreciating a job well done!

Best practice benchmarks are gleaned from our top partner service providers and are used to mentor and guide new partners. We also listen to partner recommendations and make system improvements to support our partner network. Two-way partner communication and improvement suggestions are taken seriously at Aires. The Greek philosopher Epictetus said, “We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak.” Listening to partners and customers gives us a broad range of information to drive improvements.

Our commitment to quality extends beyond mere transactions; it is about building lasting relationships with our clients and partners alike. The insights gained from post-relocation surveys enable us to foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that the families we relocate receive the best possible support during every stage of their international move.

Aires' approach to selecting the best partners for international household goods is anchored in a fully independent partner network and a reliance on post relocation survey data and communication. By actively involving the families, counselors, and partners in the evaluation process, we not only ensure the highest standards of quality but also demonstrate our unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional service in the world of relocation and freight forwarding.
