Bliss Corporation: Committed to a Sustainable Future in the Global Mobility Marketplace

By Carolina Taddei, PR &Media Relationships, Bliss Corporation

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) has become increasingly important for organizations around the world that recognize the need to adopt sustainable practices and have a positive impact on society. In the context of the removals industry, our company has embraced CSR as an integral part of its operations, recognizing the importance of contributing to a better future. This article will explore how we have managed to implement CSR programs, adopt sustainable technologies, and build strategic partnerships to provide advice for other companies in the industry that are embarking on a similar journey.

Today, our aim is to distinguish our business within the complex dynamics that govern international mobility markets by implementing socially responsible behaviors aimed at responding favorably to the economic, environmental, and social expectations of all stakeholders. Our objective is to create a new business model capable of producing income and work in a sustainable manner, protecting the ecosystem and the renewal of natural resources, and ensuring that the conditions of human well-being are distributed. Within this design, where the concept of sustainability takes on a more global meaning, we firmly believe that everyone can play their part, from companies to the end consumers who use our services. This is why we choose to invest in projects that will have a major impact on the future, not only in environmental terms but also in economic terms, realizing the strongly differentiating value through which we are able to assert, with even greater strength, our presence within the Global Mobility industry.

These needs arise primarily from awareness of the interest shown by our customers in recent years toward Bliss Corporation’s operations. We firmly believe that to achieve ever greater progress on the environment, in terms of sustainability, we need not only the personal commitment of everyone, but also economic resources aimed at making the idea of change something tangible and concretely possible.

Reducing and Offsetting Our Environmental Impact

Bliss has chosen to implement programs aimed at offsetting and reducing CO2 emissions caused by our industry’s transport operations. We have also implemented recycling and waste reduction policies within the company, promoting a culture of responsible consumption. Our first step in this direction began with our collaboration with 3BEE, an Agri-tech company and startup founded in 2017. 3BEE has equipped more than 3,500 beekeepers, in more than 80 countries around the world, with a beehive analysis and monitoring system that allows rapid and targeted intervention on bees to preserve their health and reduce their deaths by 30%. The cooperation of our companies has led to the creation of two programs capable of generating a very positive impact on the environment:

Pollinate the Planet, with which we have helped protect 300,000 bees and promoted the pollination of 300 million flowers, guaranteeing a honey production of 150 kg per year; and Bosco Nettarifero, a project aimed at soil regeneration, thanks to which we have planted 100 trees in Italy, including 50 in Lazio and 50 in Lombardy. We’ve also begun a second collaboration with the company Regala un Albero (Gift a Tree) to contribute to environmental protection in Italy. This initiative focuses on offsetting CO2 emissions by planting new trees, protecting biodiversity, and enhancing the Italian natural landscape. In the first year of cooperation, we adopted 200 ash trees in Sila. This year, our group renewed the partnership by adopting and planting 80 oak and beech trees in the same area, which is considered one of the largest green lungs in Europe. With Gift a Tree, we have been able to translate our commitment to measurable sustainability with a significant impact on the environment, considering that each tree stores around 167 kg of CO2 per year.

Both projects have produced fantastic results. By investing in 3Bee’s innovative technologies, we were able to reduce bee mortality by 30%, reduce beekeeper management costs by 70%, and increase productivity by 20%. The reduction of bee mortality is a concrete step to preservation of an important element of the ecosystem and encourages biodiversity. With the Nectariferous Forest, on the other hand, we have managed to reduce bee starvation by generating 83 kg of nectar, equivalent to 150,000 useful stocks for pollinators. All this translates into 5.5 tons of CO2 subtracted from the atmosphere each year, helping to mitigate the impact of climate change.

In our daily operations, we have adopted environmentally friendly and sustainable packaging to reduce waste and limit the use of environmentally harmful materials. Our company has chosen to use packaging made of reusable materials from a controlled supply chain and recycled raw materials. We have eliminated the use of dyes, plastics and solvents and use biodegradable packaging chips combined with environmentally friendly shopping bags made of 100 per cent natural cotton.

Thermal disposal of cardboard combined with environmentally friendly paper tape has optimized energy consumption and limited CO2 emissions. By promoting a culture of sustainability and educating our customers on the use of environmentally friendly packaging, we try to positively influence their purchasing habits. Overall, the collaboration with 3Bee and Give a Tree combined with the implementation of CSR programs and the development of sustainable packaging has enabled us to contribute to the preservation of biodiversity, the protection of the ecosystem and the reduction of CO2 emissions, thus helping to mitigate climate change and preserve a healthy environment for present and future generations.
