The New Transferee
The New Transferee

By Will Kohudic, Editor, Portal
Each year for our July/August issue, we invite the IAM-YP group to choose a topic for the feature story that resonates throughout the industry. This issue’s feature, The New Transferee, is no exception. We’ve all experienced a shift over the last few years in clients’ needs and expectations, and the trend is only increasing.
You may ask yourself, ‘Well, how did I get here?’ The 22 authors who contributed to this article have not simply been letting the days go by. They’ve been assessing today’s market conditions and listening to their clients to stay ahead of the curve. A few of the trends they address include customers’ increased demand for flexibility; decreasing shipment volumes; a shift toward personalized, high-touch relocation support; the importance of sustainability and social responsibility; a hunger for technology-enabled services; and heightened expectations of cost transparency and control.
As you read, you will see that some contributions address points that seem similar on the surface, but that’s as deep as the resemblance goes. Each of our authors brings a unique perspective to the challenges we face in moving today’s clients. You’ll undoubtedly find experiences similar to your own below, predictions of things to come in the near future and, most importantly, strategies that will help you adjust your operations and company culture to make the most of every move and build lasting, vibrant client and customer relationships.
